Affluent investors should consider developing complex estate plans that incorporate a variety of strategies. If you have a sizable estate, I will work with your accountant to develop a strategic plan to minimize the impact of taxes and probate on your assets. It may be advantageous to incorporate a revocable living trust, offshore trusts and accounts, and tax-deferred vehicles in an overall estate plan that complies with Utah and federal tax and banking laws.

Small business owners should, in addition to a personal estate plan, have a plan for business succession integrated into the business’ or corporation’s structure. With careful planning early in a business’ development, you will be able to enjoy a well-funded retirement as your business makes a smooth transition to new ownership. I work together with your business and personal accountants to develop a plan that satisfies your needs and protects your business.
